Chelsea enter in the race for the strike goal of Liverpool, with speculation to accelerate

Ciro Immobile TEAMtalk

Chelsea joined Liverpool in the autograph race of Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, according to a report in Italy.

Lázio's marker was tied with the Reds earlier this week by Anfield Press. According to the British newspaper, Jurgen Klopp ordered his scouts to follow the Italian international in Sunday's match against Napoli.

And now the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero says the Liverpool scouts will be on Sunday while the Reds prepare for a move in January for last season's top scorer in Serie A.

The report also claims that Chelsea are very interested in the 28-year-old striker if his loan to Gonzalo Higuain fails.

The tricky striker was linked to Tottenham and Man Utd last summer but he remained in Rome with a new contract award on 1 October - to tie the club until 2023.

The former star of Turin was the top scorer of Lazio last two years and scored 29 goals last year to tie on goals with Mauro Icardi.
Napoli also has a lot for the player, according to Tuttosport, although they said earlier this week that the move to Napoli or Liverpool should probably wait until the end of the season.

The Italian source suggests, however, that Klopp thinks of Immobile for a move this month, although President Claudio Lotito does not intend to sell the property in January.

The Italian international Immobile scored 62 goals in 88 Serie A games.
